If your foundation has bowing walls, it may be a candidate for our wall anchor system.
Common Warning Signs of a Bowed Foundation
- horizontal cracks
- stair-step cracks
- inward wall movement
- walls leaning at the middle
- sticking doors upstairs
- gaps where walls meet floors
- water seepage
SafeBase™ Wall Anchor System is a Safe Basements patented product. It fixes bowed walls by restoring the lateral strength to the wall, allowing us to pull the wall back into position using the natural expansion and contraction of the soil.

What causes foundation walls to bow?
Hydrostatic Pressure
- heavy rain/ snow melt
- poor drainage
- clogged eavestroughs
- short downspouts
Weak or Aging Foundation Walls
- older block foundations
- improperly reinforced walls
- deteriorated mortar joints
- walls without proper drainage systems
Poor Grading Around the House
- water collects near the foundation
- soil becomes heavier and more expansive
- pressure increases dramatically
Expansive Clay Soil
Clay-rich soils absorb water and swell significantly. During dry periods they shrink, then expand again when wet. That constant movement stresses the foundation.
In some instances, in addition to the installation of SafeBaseTM Wall Anchor System, the SafeBase™ Waler Wall Support System may be required to provide increased structural stability to the bowed and/ or sheared wall(s). The Waler Wall Support System is the only system designed to work with SafeBase™ Wall Anchor System using the anchor rods and earth plates.
